MOQ Policy · B2B Order Planning

MOQ Is Not One Number. It Is a Production Decision.

At Botanicblossoms, minimum order quantity depends on the actual SKU, material route, color, finish, packaging, private-label requirement, mold development and order structure.

An existing artificial flower, a custom-color program, a printed retail box and a new ODM mold do not use the same production economics. The confirmed quotation should state the MOQ that applies to the actual item and customization scope.

Experience · Why MOQ Discussions Go Wrong

The Buyer Asks for “the MOQ” Before the Order Structure Is Defined.

MOQ becomes misleading when one number is expected to apply across different products, colors, packaging routes and development levels.

SKU

The Total Order Is Large, but Each SKU Quantity Is Too Small.

A mixed order can look large in total value while individual colors or SKUs still sit below an economical production batch.

Color

The Buyer Wants Five Custom Colors but Expects One Shared MOQ.

Custom dyeing, coating or material preparation can create a separate minimum batch for each color or finish route.

Packaging

The Product MOQ Works, but the Printed Packaging MOQ Does Not.

Printed boxes, sleeves, inserts, labels or other packaging materials can have their own supplier minimums.

ODM

A New Mold Is Treated Like a Standard Wholesale SKU.

New tooling or original development changes the commercial logic because the project now includes development economics, not only unit production.

Expertise · MOQ by Order Type

Choose the Order Type to See What Drives the MOQ.

The panel does not invent fixed numbers. It shows which production variable normally controls the minimum order for each buying scenario.

Existing Product

Existing Construction Usually Has the Simplest MOQ Logic.

When the buyer selects an existing SKU with a standard material and packing route, the MOQ is normally driven by the practical production and packing batch for that product.

Main MOQ Driver

Product-specific production batch.

Buyer Can Simplify

Use standard color, material and packaging.

Expertise · MOQ Drivers

MOQ Changes When the Production Economics Change.

These are the variables buyers should review before comparing MOQ across suppliers or across different Botanicblossoms products.

01 · Product Structure

Different Products Use Different Production Batches.

Artificial flowers, trees, planters and decorative objects do not share one common production route.

02 · Material Batch

Custom Materials Can Create Batch Minimums.

Custom fabric, molded parts, coating, resin route or other material preparation may affect economical quantity.

03 · Color / Finish

Each Custom Color Can Act Like Its Own Production Batch.

The more custom colors or finish routes in one order, the more SKU-level MOQ review may be required.

04 · Packaging

Packaging Supplier MOQ Can Become the Order MOQ.

Printed boxes, labels, sleeves or inserts may have a separate minimum from the product itself.

05 · Mold / Tooling

New Development Needs a Volume Logic.

New molds or components should be evaluated against expected order volume and repeat-order potential.

06 · SKU Mix

Total Order Quantity Is Not Always the Same as MOQ per SKU.

Mixed-SKU programs should be reviewed item by item before the final order structure is confirmed.

Expertise · Mixed-SKU Orders

A Large Total Order Can Still Contain Small Production Batches.

For retailers, e-commerce sellers and commercial projects, it is common to combine many styles. The practical question is whether each SKU, color and packaging combination reaches an economical production batch.

Mixed-SKU Rule

Send the full SKU matrix. We can review which items can share materials or packaging and which need separate MOQ treatment.

Shareable Input

Can Several SKUs Use the Same Material or Pack?

Shared materials or packaging routes can sometimes simplify the production structure.

Separate Color

Does Each Color Need Its Own Batch?

Custom color can create separate production preparation even when the base SKU is the same.

Separate Packaging

Does Every SKU Need Different Artwork?

Multiple printed packs or barcode versions can add packaging minimums independently of product quantity.

Project Allocation

Can the Order Be Consolidated by Project Zone or Delivery?

Commercial projects may need the order structured around zone allocation, packaging and staged delivery.

Expertise · Reduce MOQ Complexity

If the MOQ Is Too High, Change the Order Structure Before You Change the Product.

Not every MOQ can or should be reduced, but buyers can often simplify the production route by reducing the number of custom variables.

01 · Use Existing SKU

Start from an Existing Construction.

Reduces new development and tooling complexity.

02 · Standardize Color

Reduce Custom Color Count.

Fewer custom material batches can simplify the order structure.

03 · Simplify Packaging

Use Shared or Standard Packaging.

Avoid unnecessary printed-pack minimums where branding does not require them.

04 · Consolidate SKUs

Increase Quantity on the Most Important Variants.

A tighter SKU plan can be more production-efficient than a very fragmented assortment.

Expertise · Packaging MOQ

Sometimes the Product MOQ Is Not the Highest MOQ in the Order.

Private-label buyers should treat packaging as a separate supply chain. Printed materials can create their own minimum order quantities.

Printed Box

Dedicated Print Run.

Box material, print method and size can create a packaging-specific minimum.

Labels

SKU and Barcode Variants.

Each artwork or barcode version can increase packaging complexity.

Insert / Sleeve

Separate Printed Component.

Additional branded components may introduce another supplier minimum.

Shared Pack

Can Reduce Fragmentation.

A common pack plus SKU-specific label can sometimes simplify the assortment structure.

Expertise · OEM / ODM MOQ

New Development Needs a Commercial Volume Logic.

Botanicblossoms supports OEM and ODM development covering product design, colors, materials, sizes, packaging, finishes, molds and private-label requirements. A new mold or component should therefore be evaluated differently from an existing SKU.

ODM Rule

Development cost, mold or tooling, projected bulk quantity and repeat-order potential should be reviewed together before final MOQ is confirmed.

Development

How Different Is the Product from an Existing Construction?

Minor customization and original product development do not carry the same development burden.

Tooling

Does the Product Need a New Mold or Component?

Tooling economics should be separated from standard unit-production economics.

Volume

What Is the Expected Bulk and Repeat Volume?

Project economics make more sense when expected repeat demand is considered early.

Approval

Freeze the Product Before Bulk MOQ Is Finalized.

Major product changes after sampling can change the final production minimum.

Expertise · MOQ Confirmation Workflow

SKU List → Customization → Packaging → Volume → Feasibility → MOQ Quote

Click a stage to see what needs to be clarified before a reliable MOQ can be confirmed.

Step 01 · SKU List

Identify Each Product Variant Before Asking for One Combined MOQ.

The starting point is a clear SKU or product list showing which items, colors, sizes or variants are included in the intended order.

What We Need

Product link, SKU, size, color and estimated quantity by item.

What Can Go Wrong

Only the total order quantity is provided, hiding small quantities at SKU level.

Exit Condition

The order mix is clear enough to review customization and production route.

Authority · Manufacturing Context

MOQ Has to Work Inside a Real Manufacturing System.

Botanicblossoms operates an approximately 3,500 m² production facility in Jinhua, Zhejiang, with 51–100 employees, including 5–10 R&D personnel, and monthly production capacity of around 500,000 units.

Our product range covers artificial flowers, plants, trees, cactus and succulents, wedding and Christmas products, real-touch flowers, planters, vases and resin, concrete and iron decorative products. Because these products use different materials and processes, MOQ should be evaluated by the actual product and customization route.

Trust · MOQ Claim Discipline

A Public MOQ Number Should Not Override the Actual Production Quote.

The purpose of this policy is to explain how MOQ is determined, not to create a universal number that becomes inaccurate across different products.

We Can State

MOQ Is Confirmed by SKU and Customization Route.

The quotation should define the applicable minimum for the actual project.

We Do Not Publish

One Fixed MOQ for All Artificial Botanicals.

Different products, colors, materials and packaging routes can have different minimums.

We Do Not Promise

Every Small Trial Order Can Use Full Customization.

Low-volume orders may need standard product, color or packaging to remain practical.

We Recommend

Send the Full SKU Matrix Before Negotiating MOQ.

It is easier to optimize the order after the actual assortment is visible.

MOQ Policy FAQ

Questions Buyers Should Ask Before Comparing MOQ.

The confirmed quotation should always control the applicable MOQ for the actual SKU and customization requirement.

MOQ depends on the actual SKU, material, color, finish, packaging, private-label requirement and development route. Send the product and estimated quantity so the applicable MOQ can be confirmed in the quotation.

It depends on the product and production route. A lower quantity may be more practical when the buyer uses an existing SKU, standard color and standard packaging. The feasibility should be reviewed for the actual item.

MOQ often needs SKU-level review because different products, colors or packaging variants can require separate production batches. Total order quantity alone may not describe the production minimum correctly.

Possibly, but custom colors can create separate material or dyeing batches. Send the color breakdown so we can evaluate whether the colors can share a production route or need separate minimums.

It can. Printed boxes, labels, sleeves, inserts and other packaging materials may have supplier minimums that differ from the product MOQ.

New molds or original components change the development economics. The final MOQ should be evaluated together with tooling cost, expected bulk quantity and repeat-order plan.

In some cases, yes. Using standard packaging or shared packaging structures can reduce packaging-related minimums, subject to the actual product and buyer requirement.

Mixed-SKU shipment planning can be discussed separately from production MOQ. Each SKU still needs to meet an acceptable production structure, while the completed order can then be consolidated according to the agreed shipping plan.

Confirm Your MOQ

Send the SKU Matrix Before You Negotiate the Minimum Order.

Share the product, size, color, material, quantity by SKU, customization, packaging, target market and expected repeat volume. We can then review the most practical MOQ structure for the actual project.
