No type is wrong. What matters is that you know who you are dealing with. These questions help:
- Can they send a physical sample of the exact item, in your color?
- Can they show the product on a video call, in their own sample room or warehouse?
- Can they tell you the material of the petals, leaves and stem?
- Can they explain how the product is packed, and how many pieces go in a carton?
- Can you visit, or send a third-party inspector?

How to Compare Quality
Photos hide most quality differences. On a sample, check six things.
1. Material. Petals may be plain fabric, coated fabric (real touch) or molded plastic. Each looks and feels different, and each has a different cost. Our guide to the best material for artificial flowers compares them.
2. Petal finish. Look at the edges, the veins and the color gradient. A flat, single-tone petal looks artificial. On real touch flowers, check whether the surface finish covers both sides of the petal.
3. Leaves and stem. These are where cheap products show. Check the leaf texture, the stem color, and whether the stem bends and holds its position.
4. Color consistency. Ask for two or three pieces of the same item and compare them. Then compare them with your reference.
5. Assembly. Pull gently on a petal and a leaf. Nothing should come loose.
6. Recovery after packing. Flowers travel compressed in cartons. Ask for the sample to be packed the way bulk goods will be packed, then see how it looks when you open it.
How Samples Work
Always approve a physical sample before bulk production. A sample settles questions that messages and photos cannot.
There are usually three sample routes:
- Existing product sample. An item the supplier already makes. This is the fastest route.
- Custom sample. An existing item in your color, size or packaging.
- New development. A new design made from your reference, which may need new molds.

Once you approve a sample, keep it. The approved sample is the reference that bulk goods are checked against.
How MOQ Works
There is no single MOQ for artificial flowers. It depends on the order:
- Stock or regular items generally have the lowest minimums.
- Custom colors need a minimum quantity for each color, because material is dyed or coated in batches.
- Custom packaging has its own minimum, set by printing.
- New designs need enough volume to justify mold and development work.
A mixed order can be large in total and still fall below the minimum for an individual color. So ask for MOQ per item and per color. See our MOQ policy for details.
What Affects Price
When two quotations differ, the reason is usually one of these:

To compare suppliers fairly, send each one the same specification: material, total length, flower head size, color, packaging and quantity. A lower price for a different specification is not a saving.
Lead Time and Seasonal Planning
Lead time is a chain of steps: sampling, approval, material preparation, production, inspection, packing and shipping. Production time and arrival time are different dates, so agree on which one a “delivery date” refers to.

Packing, Shipping and Inspection
Packing. Ask how many pieces go in a carton, the carton size and how flower heads are protected. This affects both freight cost and how the goods look on arrival.
Shipping terms. The quotation should state the Incoterms rule and the named port or place, for example FOB with the port named. See shipping and Incoterms.
Inspection. Goods are checked against the approved sample before shipment. You can also appoint a third-party inspector. See inspection.
